Y’all ever wonder how you know God is speaking to you?

Often he keeps showing you something repeatedly until you realize that’s exactly his way of getting your attention.

This morning he has been speaking peace into my soul. The first instance was by showing me in my hymnal “I’ve Got Peace Like a River”. As I read through the lyrics I was reminded about the peace from God being infinite. Like a river, it flows continuously if we are willing to accept it.

Next, the photo attached to this post greeted me as I lit up my phone screen for the first time this morning. Coincidence? Nah. That’s God!

Finally, I opened the Bible app to read through one of the plans I’ve been doing with an old friend. Anyone wanna guess what the subject of that devotion was this morning? Yep, God’s peace.

I’m not sure yet exactly what it is that is gonna require me to lean on his peace. But that’s ok. It will be revealed in God’s timing. But how amazing is it that he is pointing me to that knowledge this morning, preparing me for whatever lies ahead.

Next time something keeps showing up repeatedly, don’t shrug it off. Stop and pray, thanking God for loving you enough to reach out to you and to ask for discernment in whatever it is he is showing you.

As for today, let us be reminded that God has provided for us “peace like a river.”
